Face Paint, Farms & Fun

This week was our last full school week of the school year.  It's hard to believe graduation and recitals are just a few days away!  While we managed to get some work done, this week was jam packed with fun.

We began on Monday with a special presentation from author Jolie Della Valle.  She read her latest picture book, Georgie and the Ants in the Pants.  The children sang and danced along with the author as she played her ukulele.  Afterwards, children who ordered the book had the opportunity of having it signed.

There were several birthdays celebrated at The Children's Academy this week.  Children enjoyed the yummy snacks shared as well as fabulous face painting.  Take a look at some of the exceptional art work that decorated the faces and arms of Academy students.

The week came to a close with our annual field trip to Green Meadows Farm.  We appreciate all of you for braving the drive and heat to enjoy a hands on experience with farm animals.  The interaction began in the parking lot when a Little Room student spotted a fuzzy caterpillar on the pavement.  Shortly thereafter, two more were found!  I overheard one student say, "I wonder if they will go into a chrysalis soon."  And just like that, we can see our students really have internalized and learned the life cycle of a butterfly.

There were bunnies, goats, chickens and piglets to pet, as well!

And we mustn't forget the milking of Buttercup the cow.

We hope the children enjoyed the trip & the eventful week.  We wish you all a safe & enjoyable Memorial Day weekend.  See you Tuesday!
