Back from Break

Salutations, everyone!  The Academy was back on track this week after what we hope was a long and relaxing weekend for all.  The children went back to work and had some outdoor when weather permitted.  Below are photos taken this week of our students as they got back into the swing of things at school.  I hope you enjoy them.

LITTLE ROOM

All Academy students enjoyed a cooking presentation and snack courtesy of Mrs. Masi.  Be sure to take a look at her cooking summer camp application!

Planting grass

Working alongside friends

The beauty of Montessori is the opportunity for children of all ability levels to work with materials in their own way.  This abstract use of the pink tower and broad stair is a perfect example.

TRANSITIONAL ROOM

Outdoor play :)

A practical life activity to help strengthen fine motor skills

Letter matching from the language area

Planting radish seeds was an interactive science activity
Golden bead work has various extensions to continue engaging children in math
BIG ROOM

A practical life activity of carrot peeling to help fine motor and kitchen skills

All smiles in the math area

Fridays are for book reports

A challenge from the sensorial area

Using hammer and nails in the practical life area with the utmost care and protective wear.

The movable alphabet helps letter recognition, spelling, and literacy skills

A very concentrated student working in the language area

This activity helps children visualize the purposes and functions of various parts of plants.  Students saw the white petals of these flowers change color due to the food coloring in the water they were in.  Amazing!

Til next weekend, Children's Academy family.  Enjoy the weekend.
