Til 2017

Welcome to the last Children's Academy blog post of the year!  We all had such a busy week last week preparing for our school holiday show.  Below are a few images taken of your stars in action.  For more photos, please see the link attached in the email sent out by Mr. Plaza.  Thank you for capturing these treasured moments, Mr. Plaza!  The students did such a fantastic job performing on stage for family and friends.  We are so very proud of them and thank everyone who attended.  Much gratitude is also extended to PACA and volunteers for organizing the bake sale and to those who contributed to its success as well as to the success of the raffle.  Our school is very appreciative of all your efforts.

Despite the preparation for their big day, the students still found time to focus on work in their respective classrooms.  Take a look at some of the many activities that were worked with this week.

Working as a team to identify paw prints is a good idea

Working with animals is always a favorite

Seasonal activities bringing cheer and fine motor practice

Knobbed cylinders from the sensorial shelf help reinforce depth, width and sometimes both!

Vertebrate or invertebrate... that is the question.  :)

Sound containers bring letter sounds to life in the language area

Dreidel color sorting, found on the sensorial shelf, helps reinforce knowledge of primary colors

Gift counting in the math area

Christmas tree decorating was a favorite in every classroom this month

Dreidels are fun practical life activities

Menorah candle placement is a great addition to any practical life shelf

Lastly, a very happy birthday was wished to David from the Little Room.  Thank you for celebrating with your friends!

Well, Children's Academy Family, we hope all of you enjoy the two week holiday break.  May your hearts and homes be warmed with the joys of the holiday season.  We will see you in 2017.  Happy New Year!
