So Thankful

This week's blog post is all about our Thanksgiving Feast at The Children's Academy.  Students chose and made their own hats, which were Pilgrim and Native American themed.  Thanks to the help of PACA and all our family volunteers, the children were able to create arrow bead necklaces and feast on a delicious Thanksgiving spread.  We are very thankful to all those who helped contribute to today's feast in any capacity.  It would not have been possible without your involvement and dedication.

During this time of giving, we encourage the students to think about what they are thankful for.  The Children's Academy staff also reflects on this thought.  We are all appreciative of each and every student in our classrooms.  The trust of our students' parents is something we are grateful for as well.  Without your trust and assistance, we wouldn't be able to do what we do.

With that said, below you'll see some very happy faces.  I hope they brighten our day the way they have brightened ours!

May your smiles be abundant, your hearts overflowing, and your bellies full during this holiday weekend. Happy Thanksgiving!

Work Week

This week was business as usual at The Children's Academy.  The students had five whole days of focus and productivity.  Below you will see a variety of images showing the children working in all areas of the Montessori classrooms.  These pictures are great conversation starters.  Feel free to share them with your child and engage in dialogue about what activities they see and how they are used.  Our students are great resources!

Enjoy your weekend, Academy Family.

Short & Sweet

It is amazing what can be done in a shortened school week. In just three school days students managed to work while also enjoying our annual book fair, Alumni Day & Grandparents Days! Spending time with grandparents is always a treat for our students & seeing returning Alumni brings smiles to all our faces.

Students helped teachers prepare cheese, crackers & beverages for Grandparents & visitors.

Our book fair was filled with literature and activities. We would like to thank all the PACA volunteers who helped make this event possible as well as everyone who supported the book fair. It was a wonderful event that benefitted our school and students in many ways.

Lastly, we are greatly appreciative for the participation in Thursday's Montessori Night. We hope you found the presentations and discussions helpful & look forward to seeing all of you at our next Montessori Night on February 16th.   Below you will see this week's images of the children working with a variety of activities, some of which were presented by teachers on Thursday evening.  Whether true Montessori or teacher made materials, all exude the spirit of Montessori and the dedication we have to the development of our students.
Happy Friday, Academy Family!
